Acrylic and Gel Nails
Acrylic Nails, Gel Nails what is the trend today? I think both are pretty popular and it only comes down to your own personal preference. One of the first things anyone notices about you is your hands and a beautifully manicure can be a great source of pride for some women and if your own nails are not up to the task then a nails salon is the best way to get new beautiful hands.
The two most popular ways to create nails are Acrylic Nails, Gel Nails.
You can have an amazing set of nails that look completely natural that resist cracking and breaking. You can even have decorations put on them like little rhinestones and if your nail technician is really good they can paint decorations on them like flowers and your favourite character (nail art). Some nail technicians can also create beautiful, artistic pictures on your nails according to your liking.
Acrylic nails
Acrylic nails are stronger than Gel nails so this has been the best choice for women who work as Hairdressers, Carers and Cleaners for a long time. Gel nails use a special gel to form the nail.
The gel is just a little easier to handle and the nail technician will have more time to create the form because the gel does not dry without the appropriate machine not like Acrylic which dries while you are working so the technician has to work faster to create and form the nail. Both produce the long lasting, beautiful nails you really want. The price of Gel and Acrylic nails can also be different.
Either set of nails needs some upkeep every three to four weeks, depending on the person’s nail growth and this also depends on how the person handles them .
How acrylic nails works
Acrylics start by applying a fake tip to your finger if needed and then applying the acrylic, by brush, over it, mixing the powdered acrylic with the liquid acrylic to hold the fake tip in place and form the nail. On the other hand Gel is brushed onto your natural nail or if your natural nails are very short you can still use a fake tip to lengthen the nail and then gel is applied on the nails.
As I said you will need to get your acrylic and gel nails refilled every two to three weeks because as the regular nail grows out then the new section of nail needs the acrylic or gel reapplied. Acrylics are more crack and break resistant than their gel counterparts because they are stronger so they may serve you a little bit longer than the Gels.
Removal is a lot easier for acrylics, too. Your fingers are soaked in a special solution to loosen them so they come off cleanly.Gels can be wrapped in foil with the appropriate solution for 15 to 20 mins, then the access gel will be filed off. Some people think they can file them off but it is not recommended because if you file them too much you will damage your natural nail bed and this will make your natural nails more prone to damage and nail diseases.
Hopefully this answers your questions about acrylic nails and gel nails, the new trend of today.
